About me

Mr. Andrew Malcolm, better known as Andy.

B.Sc (Victoria University)

MBChB with distinction (Otago University)

FRACS - Urology (1999)

Member: Urological Society of Australasia

I am a visiting Consultant at both Nelson and Wairau (Blenheim) public hospitals.

After completing my medical degree in Otago and Christchurch, I worked in New Zealand for two years before finding time to travel through South America and Asia. Upon my return I worked in Auckland, Christchurch and Tauranga gaining experience in a variety of surgical specialties, and undertaking advanced surgical training in Urology.

After working in London at St Bartholomew's Hospital, I returned to New Zealand and settled in Nelson in 1999 to establish my urology practice.

My areas of interest include all the major urological conditions. I am especially interested in urological cancers - such as those of the prostate, kidney, bladder and testicles - as well as other prostate problems, like difficulty passing urine, stone disease, scrotal problems, and fertility and continence issues. I maintain close links with other specialist urologists throughout New Zealand, all of whom are committed to offering modern, effective urological care.

I see patients from across the top of the South Island, working out of the Churchill Private Hospital in Blenheim, and the Manuka Street Hospital in Nelson. Both are private surgical hospitals with fantastic staff and modern facilities.
